Future Template Parent | EMDR intensive tips for EMDR therapists and Therapist Moms
The go-to podcast for EMDR therapists who want to work fewer hours, make more money and have a better work/life balance.
Are you an EMDR therapist feeling overwhelmed by the one-to-one client model? Your caseload is packed and the lack of flexibility in your practice often leads to burnout and resentment because you can't be the parent or the therapist you really want to be.
I'm here to tell you there's a different way to run your practice.
And you're in the right place if you want to learn more about EMDR intensives and how to implement them so can build a practice that suits your family life and supports you in being a therapist for the long term.
Welcome to the Future Template Parent podcast! I'm your host, Carolyn Solo LCSW, EMDR consultant, business coach, and mom to a neurodivergent six year old, a four year old and one year old. I started offering EMDR intensives in 2022 after becoming burnt out from the grind of week-to-week sessions. Managing a caseload of 20+ clients every week had a huge impact on my ability to be present for my family and I struggled to take breaks or days off because I was worried about letting my clients down.
I knew something had to change.
EMDR intensives (or the Disney Fast Pass of Therapy as I like to call them) have transformed my entire business model.
I now offer EMDR intensives almost exclusively in my practice, making significantly more money and working fewer clinical hours. My clients get better results, spend less time in therapy and I have more space to be the parent I want to be.
I want to teach you how you can too!
Tune in each week to learn:
- Practical tools to improve your EMDR clinical practice
- How to manage what comes up for you when you're a parent who practices EMD
- How offering EMDR intensives maximize your energy and reduce your overwhelm and 1-1 client time as an EMDR therapist and a parent
- How being an EMDR client has shaped my evolution as a mom
I can’t wait to help you create the future template for your life as a parent and as a therapist.

Will AI Replace Therapists? What ChatGPT Can’t Do That You Can [Episode 108]
Send me a text with your biggest takeaway!
Will AI really replace therapists? Or are we just being dramatic?
In this off-the-cuff episode, Dr. Carolyn Solo shares her honest thoughts about the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT — and what it means for the future of therapy. She touches on everything from VC-backed therapy platforms to chatbot relationships and why they’re both incredibly seductive and deeply limited.
The truth? AI might be able to offer surface-level support, but it can’t replace real human connection, deep neurobiological processing, or the kind of attuned care that comes from a therapist who actually sees you.
If you’ve been feeling uncertain about your role in this shifting landscape, this episode is your reminder that your work still matters — and that EMDR intensives might just be the future-proofing your practice needs.
🎧 Listen in and learn why now is the time to evolve, adapt, and stand out.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- Why therapists are feeling uncertain about AI — and what those fears are really about
- What ChatGPT and other AI tools can do… and where they fall short
- How therapy intensives offer a uniquely human, transformative alternative
- Why now is the time to adapt your practice model to stay relevant and in demand

“You know, because of what these non-human therapy options can offer, people are going to start looking for something different, something better, something unique, •something transformative that CHATGPT cannot offer and therapy incentives are one of those things, right? Think about the healing experience. you are offering to clients and there's no way that that can be replicated in the near future" - Carolyn
