Future Template Parent Podcast | EMDR intensive tips for EMDR therapists
The go-to podcast for EMDR therapists who want to work fewer hours, make more money and have a better work/life balance.
Are you an EMDR therapist feeling overwhelmed by the one-to-one client model? Your caseload is packed and the lack of flexibility in your practice often leads to burnout and resentment because you can't be the parent or the therapist you really want to be.
I'm here to tell you there's a different way to run your practice.
And you're in the right place if you want to learn more about EMDR intensives and how to implement them so can build a practice that suits your family life and supports you in being a therapist for the long term.
Welcome to the Future Template Parent podcast! I'm your host, Carolyn Solo LCSW, EMDR consultant, business coach, and mom to a neurodivergent six year old, a four year old and one year old. I started offering EMDR intensives in 2022 after becoming burnt out from the grind of week-to-week sessions. Managing a caseload of 20+ clients every week had a huge impact on my ability to be present for my family and I struggled to take breaks or days off because I was worried about letting my clients down.
I knew something had to change.
EMDR intensives (or the Disney Fast Pass of Therapy as I like to call them) have transformed my entire business model.
I now offer EMDR intensives almost exclusively in my practice, making significantly more money and working fewer clinical hours. My clients get better results, spend less time in therapy and I have more space to be the parent I want to be.
I want to teach you how you can too!
Tune in each week to learn:
- Practical tools to improve your EMDR clinical practice
- How to manage what comes up for you when you're a parent who practices EMD
- How offering EMDR intensives maximize your energy and reduce your overwhelm and 1-1 client time as an EMDR therapist and a parent
- How being an EMDR client has shaped my evolution as a mom
I can’t wait to help you create the future template for your life as a parent and as a therapist.

“And kids are a great bullshit detector, so they know right away if you're not present. So providing these elements in the play therapy space allows the child to feel safe to express and process in whatever way makes the most sense to them and feels best, right? Without the pressure to verbally process memories and experiences that might feel impossible to articulate, either because they don't understand them.” - Carolyn
